when on assignment i always shoot above and beyond the original client’s specifications…for one thing if you fuck an image up you at least have another to show for it, and for another it makes you look like you know what you’re doing.

but when the b-roll turns out really rad, sometimes you’re bummed that it will never be seen in print.  brandon reid, on assignment for the honolulu weekly.

on assignment for flux magazine.  i shot a brief photo series of a shinto shrine in chinatown.  i didn’t even know it was there. for the final copy they went with black and white but i feel the color image had much more depth.

i’m terrible at budgeting my commentary.  i ran out of things to say about this series.  this is the last image anyway. shallow depth of field artfck photography in an automotive shoot. sigma 30mm f/1.4 shot at about f/2 at sunset.

the only real constraint on this shoot was that the badging had to be apparent so those who can’t recognize a ‘69 camaro SS by the shape of its headlight lenses and front grill could tell what kind of car they were looking at. but that wasn’t the real reason i included logos/badging in the images is because its brilliant….and iconic. sweet.
